Results of Campus Vector Mosquito Breeding Site Inspection on June 24, 2024 (Conducted by Vice Principal Chang and the Environmental Safety Center)

Post Date:2024-07-01

As per the instruction of Vice Principal Chang, Chao-Chin:

This morning, on June 24, 2024, Vice Principal Chang inspected three areas on campus. It was visually evident that there are still many areas where the school has not thoroughly conducted self-inspections for epidemic prevention (the following photos are examples for reference, but the entire campus has more deficiencies). The water containers shown in the photos easily accumulate water after rain, posing an unpredictable risk of breeding sources. These are also key points of strict inspection by the health authorities.

All colleagues must actively patrol the environment and remove water containers during the dengue fever season. If the conditions shown in the following photos are related to laboratory equipment or necessary for horticultural activities, and it is challenging to eliminate breeding sources, it is imperative to inspect the water containers daily (especially after heavy rain). Colleagues are reminded to increase the frequency of inspections and make immediate improvements. We must work together to eliminate breeding sources to ensure the health and safety of staff, students, and community residents on campus.

Additionally, all building management committees must adhere to the school's "no littering" environmental policy, which stipulates that waste must not be placed in open spaces on campus. Lastly, if there are drainage issues or water accumulation in buildings such as basements, it is necessary to inspect these areas, including the basement fire pump rooms, water pump rooms, drainage ditches, manholes, or snake-proof ditches in greenhouse areas, to ensure there are no drainage problems.
