Reminder:

'Substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases' should be properly classified and stored in a dry and safe place, avoiding contact with moisture or water sources.

Furthermore, according to the letter from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, dated April 30, 2024, Ref. No. 1132701826, laboratories handling 'Substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases' should have appropriate fire extinguishing equipment, as follows:

  1. Dry powder fire extinguisher (carbonates *see note)
  2. Dry sand
  3. Expanded vermiculite or expanded perlite
  4. Others

Note: Carbonates refer to carbonates and the reaction products of carbonates with urea.
